Showers are expected primarily for windward and mauka regions, with some spilling over into leeward areas. However, the possibility of rainfall may rise early next week as an upper-level disturbance passes through the area, leading to an uptick in trade winds.
A surface high situated north of the region will maintain strong trade winds through the Wednesday night . A Wind Advisory remains in effect for Maui County and the Big Island’s typically windy areas. Alongside the winds, windward showers,, particularly overnight and into the morning, owing to ample rainclouds and a slight upper low nearby. These showers are expected to move quickly through the area, with minimal accumulations.
