Letter: Conservative thinking of no benefit to Hawaiians
The number of conservatives amongst Native Hawaiians is truly concerning. The right wing’s agenda as a whole is not beneficial to Hawaiians or any indigenous people. The number of conservatives among Native Hawaiians is becoming more prevalent, with the Trump administration planning to eliminate funding for Hawaiian Home Lands in the 2027 budget and the "Students for Fair Admissions" group suing Kamehameha Schools for discrimination against non-Hawaiians. These conservatives take away Hawaiian rights while claiming it as equality, while Native Hawaiers are at a disadvantage due to stolen land. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser welcomes all opinions and welcomes guest columns of up to 600 words.
