HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A judge ordered Monday a physical and mental evaluation for Ala Moana acid attack suspect Sebastian Mahkwan after his attorney claimed Mahkwan has been “hearing voices.”

According to his lawyers, Mahkwan was previously diagnosed with a mental illness and hospitalized in September for “hearing voices.”

The court filing says he is on anti-psychotic medication at OCCC.

Mahkwan is accused of throwing a chemical liquid on a Chinese language teacher in January, leaving her in critical condition.
