Ganot to receive Champion award

Ganot will be honored during the Final Four in Phoenix. University of Hawaii men's basketball coach Eran Ganot will receive the Coaches vs. Cancer Champion Award by the American Cancer Society at the Final Four in Phoenix. The award is given to coaches who display leadership and commitment to the fight against cancer. During his tenure at UH, Ganot has led a Coaches Against Cancer annual fundraiser before every Diamond Head Classic and has raised over $100,000 in the last two years alone. Nearly $1 million towards lodging was provided in 2023 when 8,284 free nights of lodging were provided to cancer patients who needed to stay on Oahu for treatment.

University of Hawaii men’s basketball coach Eran Ganot will be honored with the Coaches vs Cancer Champion Award by the American Cancer Society this week at the Final Four in Phoenix.

The Champion Award is given to coaches who display leadership and commitment to the fight against cancer.

During his time at the helm at UH, Ganot has spearheaded a Coaches vs. Cancer annual fundraiser before every Diamond Head Classic.

Ganot has helped raise over $100,000 in the last two years alone. Though multiple Coaches vs. Cancer fundraisers, which have gone towards the American Cancer Society’s Clarence T.C. Ching Hope Lodge in Honolulu, nearly $1 million towards lodging was provided in 2023 when 8,284 free nights of lodging were provided to cancer patients who needed to stay on Oahu for treatments.
