The victim was shot in the head near Kaaha Street and Kapiolani Boulevard in the early hours of the morning. The suspect, a 40-year-old man, fled the scene and has not yet been located. Witnesses reported seeing at least four to five men chasing a man down the street and hitting him with a stick-like object before hearing a gun go off. EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

MOILIILI (HawaiiNewsNow) - An attempted murder investigation is underway following a shooting in the Moiliili area late Tuesday night.
HPD officers rushed to the scene just after 10 p.m. near the corner of Kaaha Street and Kapiolani Boulevard just after 10 p.m.
Police said prior to the shooting, the victim and the suspect got into a verbal argument.
A witness told HNN they saw at least four to five men chasing a man down the street, before they started hitting him with a “stick-like object.”
Shortly after, witnesses said they reportedly heard a gun go off.
Officials said EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Authorities said the 40-year-old suspect fled the scene and has not yet been located.
