Hawaiian's New Honolulu Lounge: Who Actually Gets In?

Construction has started on Hawaiian's Mauka Concourse lounge, but its 200-seat capacity leaves major questions about entry. Hawaiian Airlines has begun construction of a new premium lounge at Honolulu Airport, expected to open in the first half of 2028. The nearly 13,000-square-foot facility will accommodate only about 200 guests, a significant increase for the airline as it handles multiple widebody departures to the mainland and international destinations. However, the airline has not specified who will qualify for admission. Access to the new lounge will depend on the route, ticket type, or lounge membership, and Oneworld eligible guests traveling to or from an international destination also qualify. However even eligible passengers aren't guaranteed entry. The existing Plumeria Lounge, known as Apartment 1929, has reopened as the Plumeria Loft, offering food, cocktails, showers, and outdoor seating.
