Letter: Candidates should make more effort to be known
What do you know about your district candidates? The Honolulu Star-Advertiser has published a letter asking readers what they know about their district candidates. The author stated that she only votes for candidates that she knows have the same values as herself and that she didn't vote for any Office of Hawaiian Affairs candidates as she didn’t know anything about them. She called the Office of Elections but was told that personal information could not be released. The article suggests that the Office should be responsible for informing the public about the candidates' stances on important issues such as illegal immigration, pakalolo, and men in women’s sports.
